BBC’s One Show Rickshaw makes a splashdown in Lingfield

As the crowds gathered and streets thronged with well-wishers, the heavens opened to greet Matt Baker and the BBC’s Rickshaw Challenge team of riders from The One Show. Over 400 local residents, young and old, came to the Community Centre last Saturday evening (10 Nov) on day two of the Tour De Rickshaw for BBC’s Children in Need’s fundraiser. ‘It was a great shame the heavens opened, but I’m glad we could come and support such a worthy cause and encourage those amazing young riders’, said one bystander.

Representatives from Young Epilepsy came to support and shared with BBC Surrey Radio how Children in Need was helping to support them.

A further 100 people rose early on the following morning to the see the riders set off for Hook in Hampshire.
