Opera Holloway return to Lingfield to perform this contemporary adaption of Puccini’s La Boheme on Sunday 29th September 2019 at 7.00pm.
LDCC Director, Richard Holroyd, says “We’ve had sell-out performances from Opera Holloway over the last 3 or 4 years and it is looking like this will be no exception! Our audience can look forward to another outstanding performance of one of opera’s most popular and unforgettable love stories”.
In a seaside town on the south coast in England, four young men are living the youthful dream, yearning for love and not working too hard. Their flat is run down, they’re content to live on take-aways, they complain when they run out of money and have perfected the art of dodging the landlord. Their lives are filled with trips to the pub, late night dancing and girls. Until Mimi knocks on the door. Rodolfo opens it, eyes and hands meet and a passionate affair begins.
Follow the impoverished lovers as their relationship unfurls, from it’s joyous beginnings to the bitter end on a chilly promenade.
This contemporary new production of Puccini’s thrilling, passionate love story captures the raw, consuming power of young love, performed in Opera Holloway’s intimate and immediate style.
Bar opens 6.30pm with the performance starting at 7.00pm.
Tickets £15 from the centre office – 01342 833893 or enquiries@lingfieldcentre.org
