We are pleased to host an exhibition and sale of arts and crafts created by the Ashdown Arts Group in the Orpen Lounge from 9th February to 31st March.
Ashdown Arts was formed in 2009 and are based in Forest Row, East Sussex. The aims of the group are
1. To promote the artistic endeavours of the membership and in so doing, promote a strong local arts economy for the enrichment of the community and livelihood of the members.
2. Through organisational structure and mutual co-operation provide a framework for support, encouragement, resources, opportunities, professional development and inspiration to the membership.
3. To promote public appreciation and outreach of the arts through exhibitions, workshops, educational activities, skills-exchange and other events, both locally and beyond, to enliven communities and increase connectivity.
The group currently holds one main exhibition each year in the Autumn in the Small Village Hall in Forest Row and also has links with commercial premises where members can display their work. In August the group plan to combine an exhibition with working sessions at the Forest Row Scout Headquarters.
