The Jungle Book is the next in our season of Flix in the Stix to be screened on Sunday 10th December at 3.30pm.
This 2016 version of the classic story is a balance between Disney’s 1967 animated adaptation and Kipling’s original works, bringing elements from both into the film. The film uses extensive use of computer-generated imagery to portray the animals and settings bringing this production firmly up to date. The film won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects in 2017.
The story follows Mowgli (Neel Sethi), a man-cub raised by a family of wolves since birth, as he leaves the only home he’s ever known when the fearsome tiger Shere Khan (Idris Elba) unleashes his mighty roar. Guided by a no-nonsense panther (Ben Kingsley) and a free-spirited bear (Bill Murray), the young boy meets an array of jungle animals, including a slithery python and a smooth-talking ape. Along the way, Mowgli learns valuable life lessons as his epic journey of self-discovery leads to fun and adventure.
Tickets £5 from the centre office or Robert Leech Estate Agents in the High Street. Refreshments served from 3.00pm.
