Lingfield and Dormansland Community Centre has received a total of £1495 over the last year from customers supporting the Coop’s Local Community Fund. 

Chairman of the Community Centre, Ian Jones, said “This has been a difficult year for the Centre in which most of the activities and classes, on which our income depends, have been cancelled. We have received welcome support from government schemes but greatly value the donation from our local Co-op and its customers”. 

“With the recent news about a vaccine, we hope it won’t be too much longer before we can reopen fully and welcome new and regular users again. When we do so, we know that donations such as that from the Coop have enabled us to survive through the darkest days of the crisis.  We are enormously grateful to all those in our local community who have supported the Centre by choosing us as their preferred charity when shopping at the Coop.”

The Co-op Local Community Fund supports thousands of projects across the UK. Every time a member buy’s selected Co-op branded products and services, a donation is made towards the member’s chosen local cause. In 2020 the Coop gave over £15 million to local causes.
